Alas, though I am looking into possibilities, depicting pictures of "real" Pernese people is still prohibited at the moment. If you have a good rendering of your own Pern persona that also shows how Pernese people could look like in the way of clothing, hairstyle etc. you are very welcome to submit it. I can not promise I will and can accept all pictures though.

In the meantime I can thoroughly recommend the book The People of Pern by Robin Wood (with preface by Anne McCaffrey). You will have to search for it though (best to do that on the internet), because it is not easy to find and buy.

This is a picture of Elrhan's real parents in old Dutch clothes typical for that country's province of Zeeland. It is also how I imagine Elrhan's parents as I write about them in the Pern fan fiction I write. I am sorry, it's illegal to share that with you, but I can tell you that Elrhan's father Aif features as a Master Harper (brass), which he actually was in real life too. Elrhan's mother Adriana (also called Riana) is a Journeywoman Harper in my stories and a daughter of a dragonrider called  J'han, rider of brown Knipth and a Clothcraft Journeywoman called Nelly. Aif was a son of Master Woodjoiner (carpenter) Sybrand and Jennie. If you want to you can look up Elrhan's pedigree chart.
Of course I don't know if they had wooden shoes on Pern, wood being a rather scarce and expensive product, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did... Anyway, the ancient garb is beautiful, at least as beautiful as the two people in the picture.

In the meantime...

People on Pern do often seem to wear clothing that is in many aspects similar to medieval European clothing. So here are some pictures that might, in some ways, have a Pernese feel to them...

On the left a merchant and his wife. It seems to me they come from the plains of Keroon or something.

It needs just a little imagination to see the couple pictured on the left as Lady Famira, in her traditional red Pernese wedding dress, and Lord Asgenar of Lemos, the wedding contract in his left hand...

Some years ago I came across this picture while browsing a CD-rom with free pictures. I was stunned because this woman looked exactly like how I assume that the ill fated Weyrwoman Kylara must look like. Much later I obtained a copy of Robin Wood's book The People of Pern and what do you think...?
Yes indeed, if you have a copy of that marvelous book, you will notice that there is a resemblance. Weird, isn't it?
